Broken Britain is a term which has been used to describe a perceived widespread state of social decay in Britain. The term is linked with several issues including child neglect, binge and under age drinking, violent gang, knife and gun crime, teenage pregnancy, family breakdown.
Is all this actually true? Is the grass greener in other countries?
Emigration fairs across the country are attracting record numbers of fed up Britons hoping to be given permission to live in countries such as Australia, USA, Canada and New Zealand. In 2007 over 200,000 skilled workers left while the number of Britons emigrating to Australia has doubled in the last ten years.
There is the factor of better weather and in some cases cheaper property; however there is a general level of dissatisfaction with life in the UK and a perception that life will be better overseas.
Is Britain Broken? Does Britain need fixing or are we OK and getting more things right than wrong?
